November Newsletter Update

November has been busy what with the Scarecrow Festival and Remembrance Day tributes for those who gave their lives for our today and I must say the Parish put on a really good show of respect for the fallen. We had some lovely walks around the Town admiring the different displays of poppies from one end of Upton to Lytchett Minster. We went to a ceremony at Regency Heights where they held their own service with a display of a trailing veil of hundreds of crochet poppies together with military silhouette soldiers on Poole Road from Haroys Carpentry.

Remember, if you need a calendar this year the Art Strand have produced a calendar portraying postbox toppers that have been created by Team Art Strand; https://www.beaconcommunityarts.org/calendar. You can buy the calendar either from the church office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-1 pm, the Council Office Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 9.30 am - 1pm and the Upton Central Cafe and cost £6. All proceeds go to the Art Strand to help us achieve our aim in making Upton a fun place to live in.

On the 19 DECEMBER as part of the Town Council’s Christmas celebrations we are hosting a Christmas Craft event alongside a special visit from Santa. It gets better we are again doing the MUSICAL SANTA TRAIN ON 18 DECEMBER in Upton East and look forward to another beautiful night watching the magic on the children’s faces. PLEASE COME OUT AND JOIN IN

Thank you to everybody for their wonderful entries into the Scarecrow Festival. We have separated the Scarecrow Festival from the Halloween Entries which were all wonderful too. We are looking into changing the date of the Scarecrow Festival to earlier in the year and the Halloween to Half Term so they don’t clash. Results will be shown on our Facebook Page

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Art Strand Thank you for your support.
